Wedding Music Trumpet Tune JEREMIAH CLARKE Once mistakenly attributed to Henry Purcell, the Trumpet Tune makes a nice companion to the more popular Trumpet Voluntary. Both were composed by Jeremiah Clarke (c.1674-1707), organist at St. Paul's Cathedral in London. This piece works well as either a processional or a recessional. When used as a processional the tempo is typically rather stately, as heard here with organ and trumpet. The Trumpet Tune also works very well played by the organ alone. |
